Our sword forging experiences are quite a workout, Peter will work with people attending to make a sword. Peter has had children aged 11 and 14 on sword forging experiences. They both enjoyed the day, if they have an adult with them.
Very positive feedback
Adults and teenagers have done Iron Sword Forging Experiences, they were very positive about their experiences and it was clear that it was really stimulating and there was lots of opportunities to learn techniques and discuss the history of sword making.
In this six hour blacksmith forging experience you will work with Peter to hot metal forge a piece of flat bar steel into sword, with a cross guard and wooden handle.

It’s a bit of a workout
It’s pretty physical and there’s a good deal of hammering involved, Peter will work with the person taking part and make sure that the work is progressing a pace that will allow the sword to be finished.
We don’t have other people on our Blacksmith Forging Experiences
It would only be you and anyone you’ve brought along to do the forging experience with you, or to watch and take photos and videos.
All our Blacksmith Forging Experiences are now indoors at the Petefire Chiswell Green Forge – so we’re not affected by the weather!
